Chose to shift from “Knowing” to “ Being”
In era of information overload , we all know what is right for life , which are some good habits and the right lifestyle . There are thousand books on “ Self Help”. Every day we get so many tips in WhatsApp and other social media. And yet the quality of life is not improving ?
Why ? Because we are not shifting from knowing to Being .
What is gap between knowing and being ? Lack of discipline and willpower.
We all know walking / exercise/yoga is good for health .
We all know that practicing gratitude, forgiving , empathy, kindness, being giver , all can improve our relationships and emotional health .
We all know hate, envy , comparing , criticising , always complaining are cancers for our emotional health. And yet very few can implement/ imbibe all above . Why so ?
The real transformation in life doesn’t happen by “knowing”/ “ Learning “more-—it comes from “living”what we already know. And living requires action .
Action requires discipline and willpower.
Willpower and discipline is like muscle. You have to keep practicing to make it strong.
Let us take example of morning walk . In morning , mind will say ,” today , there is more cold. I will skip today and will go tomorrow “. What you need to do ? Say mind to shut up and just move out of your home .
Taking that first little step is building your willpower and discipline muscle . Alternative is identify your accountability partner , maybe your spouse , who will prevail upon you to move out .
This is just one example . We need to build all other positive habits in this manner . Slowly transformation will happen.
